The stark contrast of a white head on a wet, sandy beach... This work is based on the fourth offering that I found while beachcombing, a portion of a statue of a Hindu god. The impact of the scene was pretty jarring, even for a seasoned beachcomber like me, so knew I had to capture it on canvas. I added real driftwood, a real shell and sea glass to the canvas, designed to blend in with their painted versions to have the viewer question what is real and what is illusion. Beach sand was ground into my background paint mixture of texture.
